Ghanaian forward Mohammed Fuseini has signed a contract extension with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise until June 2028, with an option for an additional year, after rejecting interest from clubs in Italy and Scotland, Footy-Africa can reveal.

Lazio expressed interest, while Rangers submitted a €10 million bid, but talks broke down. According to a source that exclusively talked to Footy-Africa, Fuseini was not keen on a move, and the Belgian champions had no plans to sell, wanting him involved in their upcoming Champions League campaign.

Before the extension, the 23-year-old had two years remaining on his deal. The new terms significantly increase his market value, with the potential for a higher transfer fee in the future.

🗣️ Mo back in April: “I just need to keep working, than I’m sure my time will come.”

Fuseini joined RUSG last summer from Sturm Graz in a deal worth around €2 million, following a productive loan spell at Danish side Randers.

In his debut season, he scored nine league goals and provided three assists as RUSG claimed their first Jupiler Pro League title. Across all competitions, he made 42 appearances and netted 11 times.

The striker is currently recovering from a pre-season knock, with the Belgian campaign already underway.
