Former Nigeria international Dominic Iorfa talking exclusively to Footy-Africa expressed belief that the potential Tolu Arokodare‘s move to Napoli would be a perfect fit for the 24-year-old.

“Tolu has been linked with a lot of clubs this summer, but this Napoli one looks more serious than the rest,” Iorfa told Footy-Africa in the exclusive interview. “It’s unfortunate what happened to Lukaku, but Napoli have done their homework. Tolu fits the profile. They are both big, strong, and powerful strikers.”

“It also makes for an interesting story. Victor Osimhen used to be Napoli’s main man, and Tolu could become the next Nigerian to lead their attack if this deal goes through. I’ll be very happy if it happens. I also heard Victor Boniface might be heading to AC Milan. If both transfers come off, it will be fantastic for Nigerian football,” the former Nigerian forward concluded.

Tolu Arokodare: 5 clubs that could land Super Eagles forward

After a quiet summer of speculation around Tolu Arokodare, the Nigerian striker is back in the headlines. Reports from Italy suggest that Serie A champions Napoli are weighing up a move for the KRC Genk forward.

The interest comes on the back of troubling news for the Partenopei. Romelu Lukaku, their big summer signing, has suffered a serious thigh injury that will keep him out for around three months.

The Belgian picked up the high-grade rectus femoris injury in his left thigh during a pre-season friendly against Olympiacos last week.

With Napoli suddenly short in attack, Arokodare has emerged as a potential solution. The Super Eagles striker, who stands at 1.97m, has been compared to Lukaku for his size, strength, and physical style of play.

Arokodare is coming off a superb campaign with Genk, where he scored 23 goals and registered seven assists in 43 appearances across all competitions.
