Nigerian international Christantus Uche is set for an exit from Spanish outfit Getafe after just a year, amid ongoing financial constraints and difficulties in registering new signings for the new season.
According to Getafe president Angel Torres, the club must sanction the sale of top players to ease the financial burdens and free up space to allow for the registration of new players in the squad.
Uche, 22, joined Geta Azulones from lower league side AD Ceuta last summer for €500,000 and enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in La Liga, registering four goals and six assists in 30 league starts for the club.
The versatile midfielder who also flourishes as a forward began the 2025/26 campaign with a player of the match performance in Getafe’s 2-0 win over Celta Vigo, bagging a goal and an assist to lead his side to victory.
With less than a week until the end of the summer transfer window, the Super Eagles star could be on his way out of the club, with Getafe willing to negotiate a sale despite his €25 million release clause.
Here are four potential destinations for the Nigerian star.

Wolverhampton Wanderers (England)
Wolverhampton Wanderers seems to be the most obvious destination for Christantus Uche this summer, as the English side have registered their interest in the Nigerian international and have already submitted an offer of €20 million to Getafe.
The offer is made up of a guaranteed €16 million fee plus a potential €4 million in add-ons and Uche could be tempted by a move to play in the English Premier League, with personal terms not expected to be a difficulty should Getafe accept the €20 million offer.
AC Milan (Italy)
Italian giants AC Milan are also admirers of the Super Eagles star and could land him before the end of the transfer window. The Rossoneri have failed to land both Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund and Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, making Uche a potential attacking reinforcement for the club due to his versatility.
The move could be appealing to Uche, especially with his fellow Nigerian teammate Samuel Chukwueze already at AC Milan, having made a similar switch from Spanish club Villareal.
OGC Nice (France)
French club Nice have also been linked with a move for the versatile Nigerian midfielder this summer. The club sees Uche’s versatility as a big asset, as they prepare for a tough league and European season.
Personal terms and Getafe’s €25 million valuation are not expected to be difficult if the French side are to pursue a move.

Everton (England)
English Premier League side Everton have also registered their interest in the signature of Uche.
The Nigerian attacking midfielder is highly regarded by the club and a move could be made before the transfer deadline to secure his services.
