Ugandan international and versatile midfielder Jeromy Kirya is on the verge of leaving FUFA Super 8 winners BUL FC to join Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC, Footy-Africa has exclusively learned.

This move follows an agreement between Vipers and BUL for the transfer of Kirya, who still has one year remaining on his contract. He is expected to strengthen Vipers’ midfield ahead of their 2025/26 CAF Champions League campaign.

A source at Vipers exclusively disclosed to Footy-Africa that Kirya will sign the deal early next week, with an official unveiling expected shortly thereafter. The source further revealed that Vipers will pay €9,600 (40 million shillings) to BUL and €7,200 (30 million shillings) to the player as a sign-on fee.

“The deal is over the line, and he [Kirya] will complete all the paperwork early next week. The unveiling is also scheduled for next week. He has signed a three-year deal. Vipers are going big in the market, as they aim to put on a strong show in the CAF Champions League,” the source told Footy-Africa.

Kirya has spent the past four seasons at BUL, making 94 Uganda Premier League appearances, scoring 11 goals and registering 10 assists. He joined BUL from Busoga United, where he played for three seasons and featured in 63 matches.

On the international stage, Kirya has progressed through Uganda’s youth ranks, having featured for the U-17 and U-20 teams before earning a call-up to the senior national team, the Uganda Cranes, where he has made two appearances.
