Just over three months into his time at Norwegian club Stabaek Football Club, versatile Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Danso is set to be offered a new and improved contract, Footy-Africa has exclusively learned.

Danso joined the club in March this year as a free agent after a short-term spell at Norway’s Stromsgodset, with his current contract set to run until December. He has since impressed Stabaek head coach Jorgen Walemark, who has approved a move to sign him permanently.

A source at his agency, Aneke Player Management Group, exclusively revealed to Footy-Africa that the twenty-four-year-old is set to receive improved terms in a new two-year deal with Stabaek.

“Talks are underway and are progressing positively toward a longer and improved contract for Emmanuel Danso. He has not been at the club for long, but he has already made a notable impact. Jorgen Walemark wants him to stay. They are offering him an additional two years. The player also wants to remain and continue playing with stability,” the source told Footy-Africa.

Since joining Stabaek in March, Danso—whose Transfermarkt valuation is estimated at two hundred fifty thousand euros—has made seven appearances, completing ninety minutes in four of them. Before joining Stabaek, he spent three seasons at Stromsgodset, making over twenty-eight senior team appearances. He also previously played for French top-flight side Olympique Lyon.

However, at the international level, Danso has yet to make a senior appearance for Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars. Consistent playing time at the top level could, however, change that trajectory.
