The English Premier League is widely regarded as the best European football league in the world, with its large talent pool and audience.
While several African footballers have recently made the switch to the league in big-money transfers, others have maintained their status in the league with improved performances that has earned them higher wages.
Mohamed Salah headlines this list, but is he the only Egyptian player to feature in the top five, and does any Nigerian international make the list?
This article takes a look at the top 5 African earners in the EPL.
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool, £500,000 per week)
Unsurprisingly, Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah takes top spot with a whooping £400,000 basic salary and a further £100,000 in bonuses per week, totalling £26 million annually.
The 33-year-old shattered multiple records in the 2024/25 season to guide Liverpool to a record-equalling 20th league title, and was rewarded with an improved contract offer from the club.
Salah opted against moving to Saudi Arabia to commit his future to the Reds, as he hopes to cement his legendary status as the greatest African player in EPL history.

The forward rose to prominence in the first half of the season at Eintracht Frankfurt and was rewarded for his outstanding performances with a dream move to the EPL.
Marmoush earns about £368,750 weekly, with £73,750 of that amount as bonuses. His total annual earnings amounts to about £19.18 million, making him the second highest-earning African in the league.
Bryan Mbeumo (Manchester United, £200,000 per week)
Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo joined Manchester United in the summer and has seen a significant rise in his income.
He now earns £150,000 weekly as basic salary and a further £50,000 in bonuses, taking his annual earnings to about £10.4 million.
The 26-year-old was one of the best performers in the league last season while at Brentford, netting 20 times in the league, and has shown glimpses of his quality in his short time at his new club.
Mbeumo, Osimhen and three other most expensive African transfers of 2025
Mohammed Kudus (Tottenham Hotspur, £187,500 per week)
Mohammed Kudus was one of the African stars to complete big-money moves in the EPL during the summer transfer window, swapping West Ham United for Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth about £55 million.
The Ghana star now earns about £187,500 weekly, a massive upgrade from his previous £90,000 at the Hammers.
Yoane Wissa (Newcastle United, £175,000)
Congolese striker Yoane Wissa completes this list with a basic salary of £140,000 and a further £35,000 in bonuses.
