Swedish Allsvenskan runners-up Hammarby IF are reportedly set to complete the permanent signing of Suwaibou Kebbeh from Real de Banjul FC, following the teenager’s impressive performances during his loan spell with the club’s feeder team, Hammarby TFF, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
According to the sources close to the deal, Hammarby will trigger the buy-option clause included in Kebbeh’s loan agreement with the Gambian champions. The 18-year-old forward caught the attention of the club’s technical staff after an outstanding season in the Ettan Norra, where he netted 8 goals and provided 2 assists in just 12 appearances.

Kebbeh’s pace, composure, and ability to adapt quickly to Swedish football have earned him high praise within Hammarby’s ranks. The young Gambian is now set to be rewarded with a long-term contract running until December 2030, signalling the club’s confidence in his potential to become a key figure for the senior team in the coming years.
The move marks a significant step in Kebbeh’s burgeoning career. Having developed through Real de Banjul’s youth system — a club renowned for producing some of The Gambia’s finest talents — his transition to European football has been seamless. His success at Hammarby TFF has not only raised his profile but also underlined the growing influence of Gambian players in Scandinavian leagues.
For Hammarby IF, securing Kebbeh’s services permanently aligns with their long-term strategy of investing in young, dynamic players capable of both immediate impact and future resale value. The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days, pending final paperwork and medical checks.
