Tella Dismisses Premier League Return Rumours

Speaking to Flashscore.com, Tella addressed growing speculation linking him with a return to English football, where he previously played for Southampton and Burnley. The Nigerian star made it clear he has no plans to leave the Bundesliga giants anytime soon.

“I’m still happy to be here at Bayer Leverkusen. I want to stay,” Tella said. “This is the club that believed in me. I still feel like I’ve got more to give, and I’m looking forward to the future here.”

Tella’s statement comes amid reported interest from Premier League clubs following his impressive performances in Germany. However, the versatile forward is focused on helping Leverkusen build on their domestic success and challenge in the UEFA Champions League next season.

It sounds like a ‘no’ to a Nathan Tella return to the Premier League this summer. ❌

From Championship to Champions: Tella Reflects on His Rise

Tella’s journey from the English Championship to winning two major trophies in his debut Bundesliga season has been remarkable. The former Arsenal youth product joined Leverkusen in 2023 and quickly became an important figure in the squad.

“When I first heard Leverkusen wanted to sign me, I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “I was playing in the second division, and for a club like this to show interest was incredible. Now, I’ve won the Bundesliga and the Pokal. Whether my role was big or small, I can say I was part of something historic. I’m proud to be a Bundesliga invincible.”

Tella Unbothered by Hype, Focused on Team Success

Despite his rising profile, Tella insists he remains grounded and isn’t concerned with media attention or external expectations. For him, success is measured by the team’s achievements, not individual praise.

“No, I don’t feel hyped. I don’t feel bothered,” Tella said. “I’m part of a great team. Whether I start or come off the bench, I just want to contribute. We lifted the trophies together, and that’s what matters.”

His humility and mentality have earned him praise from fans and teammates alike. As the Super Eagles star prepares for his second season in Germany, he is expected to play an even bigger role in Leverkusen’s domestic and European campaigns.

Frimpong’s Liverpool Move Highlighted, But Tella Stays Focused

While teammate Jeremie Frimpong recently completed a €35 million move to Liverpool, Tella remains fully committed to his journey in the Bundesliga. According to Transfermarkt, the Nigerian’s current market value is estimated at €15 million.

“Frimpong deserves everything coming his way,” Tella said. “But for me, I still have goals to achieve here. I’m not done yet.”

What’s Next for Nathan Tella?

With Champions League football ahead and a growing influence at Bayer Leverkusen, Nathan Tella looks set to continue his rise on the European stage. His focus, humility, and hunger for success make him one of the most exciting Nigerian players to watch in the 2024/25 season.
