Eintracht Frankfurt are closing in on the signing of Newcastle United forward William Osula, with the 22-year-old having reached a verbal agreement with the Bundesliga side, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

Osula, who has struggled for regular minutes this season, is expected to leave St James’ Park in January in search of more consistent playing time. Frankfurt are pushing to finalise a loan deal worth around €3 million, including a €20 million option to buy, but Newcastle have yet to give the move the green light.

Talks between the clubs are continuing, and Newcastle are understood to be weighing up their attacking options before approving Osula’s departure.

The Danish youth international, who is of Nigerian heritage, is under contract with the Magpies until June 2029 and is currently valued at €15 million on Transfermarkt.

Osula has made 14 appearances across all competitions this campaign, scoring three goals and registering one assist. Frankfurt, meanwhile, are seeking to strengthen their forward line after an inconsistent first half of the Bundesliga season and view Osula as a long-term project with significant upside.
