Sources told Footy-Africa that enquiries have already been made, with “significant interest” building around the Nigerian defender. However, Wolfsberger AC are not expected to sanction a January departure, though a summer transfer is considered likely.
Talks are understood to be ongoing with several clubs, but his eventual destination remains unclear.
Nwaiwu has made 11 league appearances this season, completing the full 90 minutes in 10 of those matches. He played a key role in Wolfsberger AC’s historic Austrian Cup triumph last season, the first in the club’s history.
