Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm that Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Danso attracted interest from clubs in Israel, Turkey and Norway before deciding to move closer to a switch to Scottish Premiership side Livingston FC.

A source close to the player told Footy-Africa that several teams tracked Danso’s situation as his contract with Norwegian second-division club Stabæk approached its December 30 expiry.

Stabæk were keen to retain the 25-year-old and opened talks over a contract renewal, but negotiations did not progress far enough to change his plans.

Norwegian top-flight side Lillestrøm also registered concrete interest, viewing Danso as a reliable midfield option with experience of the league and room for further development. Clubs from Israel and Turkey made enquiries as well, reflecting the growing attention around the midfielder lately.

Emmanuel Danso set to leave Stabæk in January after contract talks fail

Danso will be available on a free transfer and has already signed a pre-contract agreement with Livingston, who are aiming to reinforce their midfield ahead of the January transfer window. His work permit has been approved, clearing a key hurdle ahead of the move.

The former Olympique Lyonnais academy player, who also featured for Strømsgodset before joining Stabæk, is expected to complete the switch once registration opens in January, marking a significant step forward in his career.
