Turkish Süper Lig side, Alanyaspor, has landed the services of coveted Nigerian youngster, Uchenna Ogundu, on a 3-year deal from Turkish second tier club, Şanlıurfaspor, Footy-Africa exclusively confirms.
The 19-year-old Nigerian striker move to Alanyaspor ends numerous transfers speculation around the highly rated Nigerian forward who had been linked to FC Heart of Midlothian of Scotland, Turkish club Fenebarche and a host of other top European clubs.
In an exclusive interview with Footy Africa, the promising Nigerian youngster, Ogundu highlighted major reasons of signing with Alanyaspor, Clubs who showed interest in his signing him and what he aims to achieve in his new home.
“Am so much delighted to have sign with a great club like Alanyaspor, obviously one of the best club in Turkey with it’s amazing fans. Past months have been hectic with me and my agent, we had offers from Scottish club, FC Heart of Midlothian, Fenerbache showed up with their offer as well”.
“I try to leave a mark wherever I go,” he says. “I left a mark in the colours of Şanlıurfaspor and I aim to leave my mark here as well. This is my focus and plan, and I’m so scared of letting down people who showed so much belief in me. I aim to work hard and focus a lot on helping the team”, Ogundu concluded.
Ogundu started his football career with Nigerian based club, Diamond Football Academy, before signing his first professional contract abroad with Turkish club, Sanliurfaspor U19.
The Nigerian striker instant impact with the Sanliurfaspor U19 never went unnoticed as he gained promotion to Sanliurfaspor team in 2024.
