After a period of speculation, Ghanaian international and forward Mizack Afriyie is close to leaving Ghana Premier League giants Berekum Chelsea for fellow local side Aduana FC, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

The developments come after days of talks and negotiations among the parties, including Aduana and Berekum Chelsea, as well as the fast-paced attacker, with a verbal agreement in place. Afriyie has one more year remaining on his contract.

According to an exclusive source at his agency, Golden Gate Group, Aduana will part with €81,000, to Berekum Chelsea as compensation for the remainder of his contract. The player will also receive €18,000 as sign-on fees from Aduana, who are keen on unveiling the player in a few days.

“There’s a verbal agreement with Aduana for Afriyie, after a series of meetings and negotiations. It hasn’t been easy letting him leave, because he has been an important figure at the club. But, there are so many factors we had to consider, including the fee and the player’s priorities,” the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.

In the past three seasons at Berekum Chelsea, the 21-year-old has emerged as one of the strongholds, playing 86 games, with 27 goals and 11 assists. Last campaign, he scored thrice and assisted as many times in 32 matches for Berekum Chelsea.

Meanwhile, with the Ghanaian national senior team, The Black Stars, Afriyie, whose transfermarkt valuation is estimated at €100,000, has received one cap that came in the African Nations Championship qualification campaign.
