Gambian forward Bamba Susso has completed a return to NK Aluminij, rejoining the Slovenian club on a permanent basis as a free agent.
The 23-year-old has signed a one-and-a-half-year contract, with an option to extend, marking a fresh chapter in a partnership that previously delivered promotion and silverware.
Speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa after completing his move, Susso expressed his delight at returning to a club he considers home, stressing that there is still unfinished business to take care of.
“I feel very happy to be back in Slovenia and to return to NK Aluminij. For me it feels like home,” Susso told Footy-Africa. “The club has always shown me a lot of trust and affection, and it’s an environment where I feel valued and understood. They know me well, they know my qualities, and that gives me a lot of confidence and motivation to give my best again.”
Susso’s return comes after a brief spell in Austria with second-tier side First Vienna FC. Since joining the Viennese club in August 2025, he featured in 10 league matches and one domestic cup fixture. Despite the short stay, the forward has opted to return to familiar surroundings where he enjoyed the most productive period of his career.

During his first stint with Aluminij, Susso established himself as one of the club’s most influential players. He made a total of 56 appearances, scoring 17 goals across competitions. His impact was particularly decisive last season, when he netted 15 league goals in just 22 championship matches, playing a central role in Aluminij’s title-winning campaign and promotion back to the Slovenian First League.
Aluminij, newly promoted and keen to consolidate their place in the top flight, will be hoping Susso can quickly rediscover the form that made him one of the most feared attackers in the division. His familiarity with the club, the league, and the expectations could prove vital as they prepare for the challenges of First League football.
For Susso, the return represents both comfort and ambition — a chance to build on past success, settle unfinished business, and once again make his mark in Slovenian football.
