Brighton vs Everton match preview

Brighton head into the clash on the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Fulham in their previous outing, which leaves them in 12th position on the Premier League standings with 30 points, although they are only six points off defending champions Liverpool in sixth place.

The Seagulls have won seven of their 23 league matches, while they have drawn nine and suffered nine defeats. They also have won of the best home records in the league, suffering just one defeat from 11 matches.

Everton, meanwhile, needed a late equalizer from Thierno Barry to snatch a 1-1 draw against Leeds United in their previous outing. The stalemate places them 10th on the standings with 33 points, three more than Brighton who could pull level with a win when both sides meet.

The Toffees have won nine of their 23 Premier League matches this season, recording six draws and losing eight times, while they also have the seventh best away record among Premier League sides this season.

The Toffees are also unbeaten in four of the last five outings between both sides, including winning the last two.

Recent form: Brighton

Brighton have been very inconsistent in recent outings and have only recorded two wins from their last seven games across all competitions, including a 2-1 win at Manchester United in the FA Cup third round earlier in the month.

The Seagulls have also kept just one clean sheet in their last seven matches and have a good home record, losing just once in front of their fans this season.

Recent form: Everton

Everton have also been inconsistent, recording only two wins from their last nine matches across all competitions.

The Toffees are unbeaten in their last three away matches in the league and have won the last two, including a shock 1-0 win at Aston Villa in their last away match.

Player to watch: Carlos Baleba (Brighton)

Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba returned to action after returning from the 2025 AFCON tournament in last weekend’s defeat to Fulham and his ability to beat the press will be crucial for the Seagulls when they face Everton in their next outing.
