Gambian youngster Abdoulie Tamba is set to leave Swedish club IFK Norrköping temporarily after agreeing to join Finnish Veikkausliiga side Turun Palloseura (TPS FC) on loan until the end of the season, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
The move is aimed at providing the promising defender with more regular playing time as he continues his development.
Norrköping remain confident in Tamba’s potential and are among the favourites to secure promotion to the Swedish Allsvenskan. However, the club believes that a temporary move to Finland will give the young Gambian valuable first-team experience and help accelerate his development.
Tamba joined Norrköping from Gambian club Fortune Football Club and has made 13 appearances for the Swedish side since his arrival last year.
Despite the temporary departure, Norrköping remain committed to the youngster’s long-term development. Tamba is under contract with the Swedish club until December 2029, leaving the door open for him to return and compete for a regular place once his loan spell in Finland concludes.
The move to TPS provides Tamba with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the Finnish top flight while continuing his progression in European football.
