Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan has completed a loan move to Turkish second-tier outfit Amedspor from US Cremonese, with an option to make the deal permanent, his agency ArthurLegacy has exclusively confirmed to Footy-Africa.

The 22-year-old had hoped to stake a claim at Cremonese after returning from a season-long spell with Juventus Next Gen in Serie C, where he netted six goals in 28 appearances. Afena-Gyan rejoined the Cremonese squad for pre-season, eager to impress new coach Davide Nicola.

However, sources exclusively told Footy-Africa that opportunities looked limited, leaving him with two choices: remain and play with the reserves or secure a loan. He chose the latter, sealing a move to Turkey.

Afena-Gyan joined Cremonese from AS Roma in 2022 for €6 million, having broken through under José Mourinho and helping Roma lift the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League.

Despite his early promise, consistent Serie A minutes proved hard to come by, prompting loan moves to keep him sharp.

With three years left on his Cremonese deal, he remains intent on reigniting his top-flight ambitions. Capped seven times for Ghana, he featured in the recent Unity Cup, still eyeing a Black Stars return after missing the 2022 World Cup.
