Highly rated teenage forward Mbaye Cissé has completed a permanent transfer to Swedish Allsvenskan side IFK Norrköping, marking a significant milestone in his young career.
The deal was facilitated by renowned agent Modou Lamin Beyai, who also represents Youssoupha Sanyang—another Teungueth FC graduate currently plying his trade at the highest level in European football. In an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa, Beyai paid tribute to the trust shown by Teungueth FC President Babacar Ndiaye, crediting it as central to the successful completion of the transfer.
“I am very grateful to the President of Teungueth FC, Mr. Babacar Ndiaye, for his continued trust in handing me a second successive player from his club,” Beyai said. “Without his confidence and green light—first with Youssoupha Sanyang and now with Mbaye Cissé—this move would not have been possible. Mbaye attracted significant interest from other agents and clubs, which makes that trust even more meaningful.”
Beyai also acknowledged the role of Ebrima “Campo” Jatta, whom he fondly referred to as “General,” for his unwavering belief throughout the process. He described Cissé’s transfer as challenging, particularly given the player’s limited first-team minutes at Teungueth FC, but stressed that his raw talent and potential were always evident.

Despite never starting a league match for Teungueth FC, Cissé’s explosive attributes stood out during trials and youth international competitions. A proposed move to Swedish giants AIK narrowly fell through due to logistical complications, while interest from Mjällby AIF, Norway’s Sarpsborg, and Denmark’s Randers further underlined his growing reputation.
Ultimately, IFK Norrköping’s clear development pathway proved decisive. The presence of fellow Gambian Abdoulie Tamba at the club was also a key factor, offering Cissé both on- and off-the-pitch support as he adapts to life in Sweden.
Technically gifted and physically strong, Cissé is known for his pace, directness, and effectiveness in one-on-one situations. He also demonstrated a keen eye for goal at the UEFA Friendship Cup in Switzerland earlier this year, scoring three times in four appearances for Senegal’s U18 national team.
“I strongly believe in his potential,” Beyai added in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa. “Barring any setbacks, I see Mbaye making a similar step in his career at IFK Norrköping to the one Youssoupha Sanyang made with Östers IF.”
The 18-year-old joins from Senegalese Ligue 1 outfit Teungueth FC after an extensive trial period in Scandinavia, signing a long-term contract that runs until December 2029.

Born in The Gambia and eligible for Senegal, Cissé had attracted attention from several European clubs following a series of trials in Sweden, including stints with Mjällby AIF and IFK Norrköping. His performances ultimately convinced Norrköping’s technical team, who moved decisively to secure his services ahead of growing regional competition.
With a long-term contract secured and a structured development plan in place, Mbaye Cissé now has the platform to translate promise into performance—continuing a growing legacy of West African talent making its mark on Scandinavian football.
