Swedish giants AIK have beaten Malmö FF, FC Copenhagen, and several other European clubs to the signing of highly rated Nigerian youngster Oreoluwa Agbenla from Beyond Limits, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.
The Nigerian youth international has signed a contract that will keep him at AIK until 2030 after the Allsvenskan club won the race for his signature.
Agbenla attracted interest from clubs across France, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden following a string of impressive performances for Beyond Limits.
Sources close to the deal told Footy-Africa that AIK secured the agreement with Beyond Limits after successful negotiations, with the transfer being finalized in September 2025.
However, the move was only completed after the midfielder became eligible to join the club in July 2026, and he is expected to link up directly with the first team.
The talented midfielder previously represented Nigeria at the 2024 WAFU B U-20 Championship, where he featured alongside compatriot Muiz Oladimeji, who has also secured a move to the Swedish Allsvenskan.
Agbenla’s arrival further strengthens the growing presence of Beyond Limits graduates and Nigerian players in Sweden’s top-flight league, highlighting the increasing influence of Nigerian talent in Scandinavian football.
