Turkish club Amedspor are pushing to secure the permanent signing of Ghana forward Felix Afena-Gyan following his successful loan spell with the newly promoted side, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

According to sources close to the player’s representatives, Amedspor are keen to retain the 23-year-old after his impressive contributions helped the club earn promotion to the Turkish SΓΌper Lig.

Afena-Gyan enjoyed a productive campaign, scoring five goals and providing six assists as Amedspor secured a historic place in Turkey’s top flight.

The Ghanaian joined the club on a season-long loan from Italian side Cremonese, with Amedspor holding an option to make the move permanent.

However, the situation has become more complicated following Cremonese’s relegation from Serie A. The Italian club are yet to activate an extension option in Afena-Gyan’s contract, which is due to expire on June 30.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, the former Roma striker is understood to be open to continuing his career in Turkey, where he has settled well and enjoyed regular playing time.

Amedspor are reportedly in discussions with Cremonese over a deal worth around €1.5 million, with the Turkish club hoping to finalise an agreement before June 10.

Cremonese signed Afena-Gyan for approximately €6 million and are believed to be seeking compensation rather than losing the player without a transfer fee.

While Amedspor remain confident of reaching an agreement, interest from clubs in France and Germany could complicate negotiations.

Afena-Gyan’s performances during the 2025-26 campaign have attracted attention across Europe, leaving the Ghana international with several options as he prepares to decide the next step in his career.

The forward recently made headlines after confirming that his residence in Italy had been burgled while he was away on international duty with Ghana, but he is expected to focus fully on resolving his club future in the coming weeks.
