Tolu Arokodare is edging closer to a move to English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers after personal terms have neared completion. His Belgian Pro League club KRC Genk are now in active talks with the Midlands outfit, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
Following a prolific campaign in Belgium, where the 24-year-old striker netted 23 goals and provided six assists across the Jupiler Pro League and domestic Cup, Wolves have identified him as a key target to strengthen their frontline ahead of the new season.
Arokodare on his way out: Wolverhampton wants Genk’s top scorer
Sources close to the player’s representatives, CAA Base Limited, reveal that discussions between Genk and Wolves are progressing positively.
Arokodare is understood to have a gentleman’s agreement with Genk that would allow him to leave if an interested club meets their valuation in the region of €20–€25 million.
“There is genuine interest from Wolves and talks are ongoing. Tolu is happy at Genk, but the club respects his ambition, and they have an understanding that if the right offer comes in, he will be allowed to move on. They are also ready to respect the verbal agreement they hold that he would leave if an offer between €20-€25 million came in,” an exclusive source told Footy-Africa.
Arokodare, who joined Genk from French side Amiens SC after previous stints at Köln and Valmiera FC, finished as joint top-scorer in the Belgian Pro League last season with 21 goals.
On the international stage, the forward made his Super Eagles debut earlier this year during Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, and has since earned four caps with one goal in the prestigious shirt.
