Dan Agyei has reiterated his strong desire to represent Ghana national football team, stating that he would fully commit himself if given the opportunity to wear the national jersey.

The 27-year-old forward, currently playing for Kocaelispor, says his ambition to feature for Ghana has remained unchanged since first engaging with Ghana Football Association officials several years ago.

“It would be an honour to represent my country, Ghana. I’m a proud Ghanaian and grew up watching the Black Stars,” Agyei told Sportsworldghana.com in an interview.

The former Leyton Orient F.C. striker explained that discussions about a potential international future date back to 2018, and since then he has consistently kept himself available for selection:

“Ever since I spoke with former management back in 2018, I’ve been open and ready to play. I’ve always been keen to contribute, and if the opportunity comes and I am called upon, I’d give everything for the shirt.”

Agyei has been building his career in Turkey following his move to Kocaelispor in June 2025, after opting not to extend his stay with Leyton Orient. The forward signed a two-year deal with the club and has since featured regularly, scoring four goals in 21 league appearances this season.

His renewed expression of interest comes at a time when the Black Stars are fine-tuning their squad ahead of the upcoming international window. Ghana are scheduled to face Austria national football team and Germany national football team in friendly matches as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

At the global tournament, Ghana will begin their campaign against Panama national football team on June 17 in Toronto. They will then face England national football team on June 23 in Boston before concluding their group fixtures against Croatia national football team on June 27 in Philadelphia.

For Agyei, the message to Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is straightforward: he remains eager, prepared, and ready to answer the call if Ghana decides to bring him into the national setup.
