English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers completed the signing of exciting Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Belgian side Genk, in a major transfer deadline day swoop.
Genk will receive £24 million for the services of the 24-year-old, with a guaranteed £23 million and £1 million to be paid in bonuses, a record transfer fee received by the club, eclipsing the transfer of Sander Berge to Sheffield United in 2020.
The Super Eagles star joined Genk in 2023 from Latvian outfit Valmeira and shone brightly in the Belgian Super League in the 2024/25 campaign, netting 21 goals to win the golden boot. Despite his heroics in the previous campaign, including winning the Ebony award as the best African player in the league, he has been limited to a few substitute appearances this season, with the club willing to part ways with him.
Arokodare penned a four-year deal at the Molineux, with an option of an extra year potentially keeping him at the club until 2030 and will earn around £45,000 weekly amounting to £2.34 million annually.
The 24-year-old is expected to offer support in Wolves’ attack for forward Jorgen Strand Larsen, who remained at the club despite interest from Newcastle United.

Salary breakdown
Per Salaryleaks, Arokodare will receive a significant raise from his salary at Genk and will earn £45,000 weekly, amounting to around £2.34 million annually. The Nigerian striker could receive around £11.7 million over the course of his contract, if the option of the extra year is triggered.
Wolves’ total investment in the Super Eagles forward could amount up to £35.7 million, making him one of the biggest signings for the club in recent years.
From Belgium to England
Tolu Arokodare first moved to Genk in 2023 after a breakout season at Latvian club Valmeira, before going on to score 41 goals in 113 appearances for the Belgian side.
The 24-year-old will hope to make a name for himself after taking the leap to the English Premier League and continue his impressive goalscoring record with Wolves.
