Premier League heavyweights Arsenal are reportedly exploring the possibility of a move for Cameroonian young forward Christian Kofane from Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the summer transfer window.

The North London club is hoping to strengthen their attack, which has misfired this season ahead of the upcoming campaign, as they look to assert their dominance on the domestic league and also in Europe.

The Gunners are also likely to lose certain players in attack during the summer, with the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz already linked with an exit, and their potential departure would free up space for the addition of a new forward.

Kofane only joined Bayer Leverkusen last summer from Albacete last summer, but has enjoyed a remarkable campaign so far at the German club. The 19-year-old had a standout campaign with the Spanish lower division side and was the centre of attraction from many European clubs, before he eventually agreed a move to Germany.

He has carried that form into this season with eight goals and seven assists across all competitions and was a constant threat to the Arsenal backline during their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 meeting.

On the international stage, the youngster scored twice at the 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco, as Cameroon exited the competition at the quarter-final stage.

Kofane is primarily a centre forward, but he can also feature on the flanks and would be a great addition to Mikel Arteta’s side if a deal eventually happens.

How much will Christian Kofane cost Arsenal

According to Transfermarkt, Christian Kofane is currently valued at around €40 million, making him the third most valuable Cameroonian player in the world, behind Bryan Mbeumo and Carlos Baleba.

However, Bayer Leverkusen are said to have placed a higher price tag on the youngster, valuing him between €60 million and €70 million before they would consider letting him leave this summer.

While that figure is unlikely to be very difficult for Arsenal, they may still need to offload a few players to make the deal happen, especially after their heavy spending in the previous summer transfer window.
