Ghanaian attacking midfielder Augustine Boakye is on Hamburg’s radar, but his current club AS Saint-Étienne is not willing to let him go not a reasonable price, according to Africafoot.
Under contract with the French side until June 2028, with an option for an additional year, the 24-year-old is being courted by Hamburg. The German club, currently 13th in the Bundesliga, has targeted Boakye to bolster its struggling attack.
According to the report, Claus Costa, the Hamburg’s sporting director, has contacted Saint-Étienne’s management regarding the transfer. He has even made an initial offer of €7 million to secure Boakye’s services. However, AS Saint-Étienne is not willing to sell the player at this price.
Saint-Étienne’s management hopes to maximize its profit from the transfer. Indeed, the club’s directors simply rejected Hamburg’s initial offer and hope to recoup at least €10 million from the deal.

Having scored 5 goals and provided 2 assists in 11 Ligue 2 matches this 2024/25 season, Boakye is continuing his strong form from last season. A tireless dribbler, he loves to take charge of the game by dropping deep and constantly creating danger in the final third.
His current Transfermarkt value is estimated at €4 million.
