Kwadwo Asamoah (six titles)

Former Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah won six Serie A titles during his playing days and tops this list as the most decorated African footballer in the history of the Italian league.

He spent his entire professional career in Italy, but he enjoyed the greatest success at Juventus, where he played between 2012 and 2018.

Asamoah was part of a dominant Juventus side that won six consecutive Scudetto and was also named in the Serie A Team of the Season in the 2013-14 season. The former Udinese left-back also won four Coppa Italia and three Italian Super cup, while he finished runners-up twice in the UEFA Champions League.

Mehdi Benatia (three titles)

Former Moroccan captain Mehdi Benatia comes second on this list, having won three Serie A titles during his time at Juventus. The Marseille sporting director joined the Bianconeri from Bayern Munich initially on loan in 2016, before joining permanently in 2017.

Benatia won three league titles during this period, as well as two Coppa Italia and one Italian Super cup, while he earned a spot in the Serie A Team of the Season once in 2013-14, although that was while he was at AS Roma.

Frank Anguissa (two titles)

Cameroonian midfielder Frank Anguissa has won two Serie A titles so far and could still add to that tally before the end of his playing career.

The 30-year-old joined Napoli from Fulham in 2021 and helped the club to a historic title in the 2022-23 season, marking their first league title in 33 years.

Anguissa also played a key role as Napoli won a second league title in three seasons during the 2024-25 season and won the Serie A player of the month once in that campaign for the club.

George Weah (two titles)

Liberian legend George Weah is widely known as one of Africaโ€™s greatest players and the only player from the continent to win the Ballon dโ€™Or award and the FIFA Best Player award, but he also won two Serie A titles during a hugely successful career.

Weah joined AC Milan in 1995 and won the Serie A in his debut season, before adding a second title win in 1999.

Sulley Muntari (two titles)

Ghanaian legend Sulley Muntari completes this list with two Serie A titles, both won during his time at Inter Milan.

The former Sunderland midfielder joined the club in 2008 and helped them win two consecutive league titles in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 season, the second being part of a famous treble, as they became the first and only Italian club to achieve the feat so far.
