Egyptian club and CAF Champions League winners, Pyramids FC, and Ceramica Cleopatra are yet to reach a transfer agreement for Nigerian midfielder Awujoola Sodiq following the expiration of his loan deal, Footy-Africa has exclusively learned.
Despite widespread transfer rumours, the Nigerian midfielder and all other parties involved have yet to agree on a permanent move, a source close to the player revealed.
“There is nothing concrete between the two clubs for now. Sodiq’s loan contract with Pyramids FC is over, and he’s back as a Ceramica Cleopatra player. Something might eventually happen with time, but at this moment, there is no deal or proposal in place.”, said the source exclusively to Footy-Africa.
Awujoola spent the 2024–25 season on loan from Ceramica Cleopatra to Pyramids FC, contributing to the club’s CAF Champions League triumph.
During his time at Pyramids FC, he played 25 matches, scored five goals, and provided five assists.
The 27-year-old initially joined Smouha SC in 2021. After two seasons with the Alexandria-based club, he moved to Ceramica Cleopatra. Since his arrival in the Egyptian Premier League, Awujoola has made 112 appearances in all competitions, scoring 31 goals and providing 23 assists while winning two trophies.
