Rising Nigerian midfielder Prosper Obah‘s move to Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk has marked a significant rise for the 22-year-old, barely two years after moving to Europe from Supreme Kings in Nigeria.
Babawo Mohammed, who discovered the player and acts as his agent with the 10 Management Agency in Portugal, exclusively told Footy-Africa that Obah is one for the future and will surely make a mark in Ukraine and beyond.
“We discovered him during a scouting tournament in Nigeria where he showed a lot of talent, and I am happy that in such a short time, he is playing in a top-flight league, a major league. I am happy he has made good progress from Portugal and now in Ukraine. We took him to Vizela, and from there he moved to Cherkasy and now to the biggest team in Ukraine,” he exclusively told Footy-Africa.
“He is very good in midfield but can also play as a forward or winger. He is multi-dimensional, and I am sure he will do well with the team. We had a few offers for him, but Shakhtar showed more determination to get him and were willing to offer him something solid over a good period of years. I hope he does well there and makes everyone happy and proud,” Mohammed added.

“We are also working on two other players this January window to move them to the Czech League, and when it happens, I will let you know,” he concluded.
Obah, on Saturday, made a move from Ukrainian side LNZ Cherkasy to Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk on a four-year deal lasting until December 2030.
This season in the Ukrainian Premier League, Obah shone brightly, scoring seven times in 15 appearances while also adding four assists to emerge as one of the best players in the league.
Shakhtar did not waste any time in signing the midfielder, who can also play as a winger, to bolster their ranks.
