After medical tests at AC Milan, Nigerian international Victor Boniface returned to Germany as there was still no green light to his long-awaited transfer move, according to Farbizio Romano.

After 48 hours in Milano, the 24-year-old will be back in Leverkusen today, waiting for AC Milan imminent decision on his medical tests and checks made over the weekend.

It’believed that the medical results raised concerns at San Siro, and they can be a real threat to get the deal done.

Previously this week, the clubs reached formal agreement over Boniface’s transfer and started to prepare official documents. AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen decided on a loan deal with a non-mandatory €30 million buy option clause.

Before the start of the new campaign, Boniface has largely been used as a substitute in pre-season matches, and Ten Hag’s admission during his pre-match press conference that the forward is β€œnot ready yet to start” has only intensified talks of a possible exit.

Last season, the Nigerian international scored 11 goals in 27 matches across all competitions.
