Nigerian international and forward Victor Boniface’s proposed move from Bayer Leverkusen to AC Milan remains on hold after medical examinations raised fresh concerns about his fitness.
The 24-year-old striker had agreed personal terms with the Rossoneri, with a loan deal plus option to buy lined up. However, Milan’s medical team flagged issues with his right knee, which has suffered two cruciate ligament tears in the past.
Milan Sporting Director Igli Tare confirmed the club is treading carefully before committing to the transfer.

“We are checking Victor Boniface’s medical. His football skills are excellent, but we need to make the right decision,” Tare told Football Italia.
“We will make a final decision soon on his medical, also with our coach, Max Allegri. We were aware of past issues and are conducting all necessary assessments regarding the player’s health. His qualities are unquestionable. We are trying to make the right decision in this situation,” he added.
With the transfer deadline approaching, Milan are weighing their options. The Italian giants may look to renegotiate terms with Leverkusen, potentially lowering the loan fee, as they weigh the risks against Boniface’s undoubted talent.
