Guinea international Mohamed Camara is on course for a new chapter in his career after reportedly committing his future to South African Premiership outfit Sekhukhune United.

The Asante Kotoko goalkeeper is understood to have agreed terms on a pre-contract, positioning himself for a switch once his current deal runs out at the end of the season.

With his contract nearing expiration, the move clears a smooth path for the 26-year-old to join the PSL side without transfer complications. His representatives, Pro Sport (South Africa), are believed to have played a key role in finalizing the arrangement.

Camara’s campaign in Kumasi has been a tale of two phases. For much of the season, the towering shot-stopper stood as Kotoko’s undisputed first choice, commanding the box and delivering consistent performances between the sticks.

However, recent weeks have seen a shift in dynamics, with the Guinean falling out of the starting lineup and watching from the sidelines in the club’s last four fixtures. His most recent appearance came in match-week 25 against Karela United.

Despite his reduced role at club level, Camara’s reputation beyond Ghana remains intact. He continues to command respect on the international stage, earning a call-up to the Guinea national team for March’s friendly encounters against Togo and Benin, an indication that his quality has not gone unnoticed.

With the season entering its decisive stretch, Camara now faces the task of closing out his time with Kotoko on a strong note. As he prepares for life in South Africa, the experienced goalkeeper will be eager to leave a lasting impression before embarking on his next professional adventure.
