Chelsea vs Crystal Palace Match Preview

Chelsea head into the season in full confidence after a very successful summer. After a fourth-placed finish in the EPL last season to qualify for the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League, the Blues defeated Real Betis 4-1 in the final of the UEFA Conference League in May, before heading to the United States where they defeated European champions Paris Saint Germain 3-0 in the final to win the FIFA Club World Cup.

Enzo Maresca’s men also secured impressive victories over Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan in their preseason friendlies, heading into the new campaign with promise. They have also strengthened their squad this summer, with the additions of Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Estevao Willian and Dario Essugo.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, continued their impressive run at Wembley with a penalty shootout win over Liverpool in the FA Community Shield on Sunday. The Eagles also won their first-ever major trophy in May, stunning Manchester City 1-0 in the final of the FA Cup.
