Tanzanian international Clement Mzize, who is considered one of the greatest prospects in East African football, is close to leaving Young Africans SC, according to exclusive information from Africafoot.

A source close to the deal confirmed that the club in talks with Young Africans SC prefers to remain discreet for the time being, pending the 21-year-old player’s successful medical, a prerequisite for the official signing.

The identity of the club is expected to be revealed in the coming days as well as the official announcement to be scheduled. The transfer fee is estimated at around €1.2 million.

Mzize was recently at the center of a fierce battle between several clubs, including Umm Salal SC (Qatar), as previously was reported by Africafoot, which had submitted a significant financial offer, and Espérance de Tunis, also very active in the deal.

Also, Egyptian club Al Masry SC had already offered $650,000 (€555,262), but was ultimately beaten to the deal.

Debuting his professional career in 2022 with the Young Africans, Clement Mzize has shone with his attacking performances, quickly attracting the attention of scouts at the continental level.
