After opening Conference League game, Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner admitted he was “not surprised” the Eagles’ star player Eberechi Eze would leave the club amid transfer rumors, GB News reports.

On Thursday, Crystal Palace secured a 1-0 victory over Norwegian side Fredrikstad, with Eze calling in sick despite expectations he was to play.

“I have to apologise to all of you because I didn’t tell the truth yesterday. I thought Eze would play… he called me and said he didn’t feel well. You have to ask him why, maybe in a few days,” Glasner admitted.

Previously, it was reported that Arsenals haveΒ reached an agreement with Crystal Palace over British-born Nigerian attacking midfielder’s transfer.

The 27-year-old Transfermarkt value is estimated at around €60 million.

Eze already took part in the first two games of the season for Palace, helping The Eagles secure a win against Liverpool in the Community Shield game and a draw against Chelsea in an EPL season-opener at Stamford Bridge.
