Ghanaian international and Norwich City striker Amankwah Forson is ready to make a push with his teammates in the new EFL Championship campaign for the promotion much awaited in Norfolk.
Last year Norwich finished 13th while the 22-year striker suffered an injury in the middle of the season and registered only two goals and two assists in 26 matches across all competitions in England.
“The club wants to get promoted, so as a player, you also need that because the Premier League is the best league. It’s the top league, everybody’s watching the Premier League. So I’m prepared for that, and then I hope we get the best of it. We hope for the best next season, and then I hope we can get promoted. We will do everything and try our best to just get promoted,β Forson said in an interview with Flashscore.

Last year Forson made his international debut for Ghana taking part in friendly matches against Nigeria and Uganda. Now, ahead of the World Cup, he is aiming to return to the national squad by improving his overall performance for Norwich.Β
βDefinitely, I’m dreaming of going to the World Cup because if you’re a football player, especially a young player playing in the World Cup says a lot. I think it’s really good to be part, because I want to be part, so I need to do everything to be part of the squad,β Forson explained.
Having started his career at West African Football Academy Sporting Club (WAFA), Forson joined Red Bull Salzburg in 2021. His spell in Austria started from loans to FC Liefering and Rheindorf Altach as he was trying to gain experience and prove his fit for the first-team.
He signed a four-year deal with Norwich City in August 2024.
