Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Mamah has agreed a two-year deal with Asante Kotoko after turning down interest from clubs in Austria and Spain, Footy-Africa can confirm.
Sources have told Footy-Africa that the deal is done, with Mamah set to complete his medical before the transfer is officially announced.
The 21-year-old had attracted interest from Admiral Wacker** in Austria and AD Ceuta in Spain, but the proposals from the European clubs were considered to undervalue the player.
Mamah had initially been at the centre of a battle between Kotoko and Hearts of Oak before the European interest emerged. However, the forward has now opted to remain in Ghana, with Kotoko’s offer understood to be better than that of their local rivals.
Mamah has established himself as a consistent performer in the Ghana Premier League, scoring 20 goals in 79 appearances. He has also gained continental experience, scoring once in three CAF Champions League matches.
The striker is now expected to complete his medical before signing the final paperwork and being officially unveiled by Kotoko.
