Saudi Pro League side Al Fayha have moved closer to securing the future of Zambian international Fashion Sakala after submitting a contract renewal offer worth $4 million per season, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
Footy-Africa understands that Sakala has agreed to the proposed deal, with the club now awaiting approval from the sustainability committee before the extension can be officially finalized.
Sakala joined Al Fayha in August 2023 and has since established himself as one of the club’s most influential attacking players. In 105 appearances across all competitions, he has scored 43 goals and provided 19 assists.
His impressive performances have significantly enhanced his reputation in Saudi Arabia, making him one of Zambia’s most productive players abroad.
With his current contract expiring this month-end, reports from Europe recently linked the forward with a move to French side RC Lens. The Ligue 1 outfit have reportedly been monitoring Sakala for several months and identified him as a key transfer target as they seek to strengthen their attacking options.

Lens were hoping that the prospect of competing in European competitions next season, including the possibility of UEFA Champions League football, would help convince the player to return to Europe.
Sources exclusively told Footy-Africa that while Sakala remained open to a return to European football, his final decision would depend on the offers presented to him. A continued stay in Saudi Arabia had also remained a strong possibility.
With Al Fayha’s lucrative contract extension now on the table and the player having agreed to the terms, Sakala is expected to remain with the Saudi club for the foreseeable future.
