Malian midfielder Mamadou Sangare has been in the transfer headlines ahead of the summer transfer window, with several top European clubs reportedly interested in signing him from Lens.
The 23-year-old joined the French Ligue 1 side last summer following an impressive 2024-25 campaign with Austrian club Rapid Wien. Since arriving at Lens, he has enjoyed an outstanding debut season, which has brought attention from a number of clubs across Europe.
Sangare has quickly established himself as one of the club’s most important players, making an immediate impact in midfield, with Lens currently challenging Paris Saint-Germain in the Ligue 1 title race with only a few matches remaining, while they also look set to secure qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
The Malian midfielder has made 28 league appearances for Lens this season, starting 26 of those matches. He has also featured three times in the French Cup, with Lens set to face Nice in the final on May 22.
Although his current contract runs until 2030, Sangare could still be on the move this summer due to the growing interest in his signature.
Here are four clubs that have reportedly expressed interest in the 23-year-old midfielder.
Manchester United (England)
Premier League giants Manchester United are among the favourites to sign Mamadou Sangare from Lens during the summer transfer window as the club prepares for a major squad rebuild.
The Red Devils are expected to strengthen their midfield ahead of next season, with Brazilian midfielder Casemiro expected to leave the club, while Manuel Ugarte’s future also remains uncertain.
Losing both players would leave a huge gap in midfield, and Sangare has emerged as one of the options being considered for the role.

Juventus (Italy)
Italian giants Juventus are also expected to compete with Manchester United and other interested clubs for the signature of Mamadou Sangare once the summer transfer window opens.
The Bianconeri have struggled to meet expectations in recent seasons and are determined to return to competing for the Serie A title, while also becoming serious contenders in Europe again.
As part of their plans for a summer rebuild, Juventus are targeting a balance of youth and experience in the squad, and Sangare fits perfectly given his age and the way he has adapted quickly to life in the French top flight.

Tottenham Hotspur (England)
Tottenham Hotspur are another club showing interest in the Lens midfielder, although their chances of making a move could depend on whether they avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.
Despite winning the Europa League last season, Spurs have endured a disappointing domestic campaign and are battling for survival.
If they manage to survive, Sangare is viewed as a player capable of strengthening the midfield ahead of next season, especially with Yves Bissouma expected to leave the club when his contract expires in the summer.

Liverpool (England)
Liverpool also represent another potential destination for Mamadou Sangare ahead of next season, with the Reds reportedly considering a move for the young midfielder in the summer.
The six-time European champions have also endured a difficult campaign, missing out on their Premier League title defence, while also suffering early exits from both European and domestic cup competitions.
In addition, Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and Liverpool see Sangare as a suitable replacement if he eventually leaves.
