Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi is set for an exit from French outfit OGC Nice this month, amid growing uncertainty about his future.
The Nigerian forward initially joined the club from Lorient on a loan deal in January 2023, which was made permanent later that summer. However, he endured a setback in 2024 with an anterior cruciate ligament injury and only returned to action last year.
The striker’s future has been uncertain after he was assaulted alongside some of his teammates by supporters of the club. About 400 fans confronted the players following a 3-1 defeat to Lorient in November 2025, with Moffi singled out after he was spotted laughing with Lorient president Loic Fery after the match.
The 26-year-old was subsequently placed on sick leave and has not played for the club since, raising questions about his future.
With the January transfer window already underway, the Nigerian striker who is valued at about €10 million, could now finally secure an exit from the club. While s stay in France remains likely, a move away from the country is also a possibility.
Here are four potential destinations he could join before the end of the winter transfer window.
Simon Zenke urges Terem Moffi to leave Nice amid Auxerre transfer links
AJ Auxerre (France)
The most obvious destination for Terem Moffi seems to be French club AJ Auxerre, who have registered their interest in signing the striker.
The Diplomats are currently in a battle for survival in the French top-flight and have also struggled to score goals this season – their tally of 14 being the lowest among all 18 teams.
The arrival of Moffi, who is a proven goalscorer in the league, would boost their attacking output and could also help in their battle against relegation this season.
Angers (France)
Another possible destination for Terem Moffi by the end of January is Angers, Nice’s Ligue 1 rivals, who are open to signing the Nigerian forward on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The arrangement would benefit both parties and could provide a short-term solution while Moffi’s long-term future is determined in the summer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers (England)
Wolves have previously registered their interest in acquiring the services of Terem Moffi and could revive their pursuit this month as they continue their battle for English Premier League survival
The 26-year-old add depth to the club’s attack and could be tempted by the prospects of leaving France to join countryman Tolu Arokodare in England.
West Ham United (England)
Another club that could provide an alternative for Terem Moffi is English Premier League outfit West Ham United.
The Hammers have also struggled for form in the EPL this season and having previously shown interest in the Nigerian forward, could renew their pursuit this month as they look to ease the attacking burden on Jarrod Bowen.
