With the January transfer window fast approaching, Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika is once again attracting interest from top European clubs, and is highly likely to end up in Turkey, Footy-Africa exclusively reports.

The 23-year-old was heavily linked with several sides last summer, including AC Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham, after all three reportedly signalled strong interest in his services.

However, no deal materialised. Now, with a valuation of €20 million, Onyedika has re-emerged as a key target for clubs looking to strengthen their squads this winter.

Despite being contracted to Club Brugge until June 2027, Turkish giants Galatasaray have set their sights on the midfielder as they look to bolster their options.

Though neither Onyedika nor his representatives have confirmed or denied the rumours, a source close to the player exclusively told Footy-Africa that the interest from Turkey is genuine.

“Yes, the Galatasaray interest is true, but they are not the only team interested in him at the moment,” the source said. “In fact, they are not the only team in Turkey who want him. There is Galatasaray and another club I don’t want to mention, but they are in the top three in Turkey.”

The demand extends beyond the Turkish Super Lig, with multiple English clubs also keeping tabs on the former Midtjylland midfielder.

“Also, two teams in England want him. One of them were after him in the last transfer window, and they are back for him again. One of the teams is a newly promoted team who are doing well at the moment,” he added.

Five Nigerian stars likely to make moves in January

According to the source, any transfer will depend heavily on Club Brugge’s stance.

“I do not know what will happen, but all the offers are being considered. A lot depends on what his club, Club Brugge, are willing to take. It will be difficult for him to move because Brugge want to win the title and also do well in the Champions League. However, I am sure if the right amount is tabled they will allow him to go, but it is going to be very difficult,” the source concluded.

Onyedika has been in impressive form this season, making 19 appearances across all competitions and scoring in Club Brugge’s 4-1 UEFA Champions League victory over Monaco.
