Days after his release by Danish top-flight side Randers FC, Ghanaian goalkeeper Emmanuel Ogura has entered negotiations with Nordsjaelland over a possible return, exclusive sources have disclosed to Footy Africa.

The 23-year-old left Randers earlier this week after the club decided not to renew his contract. He spent just over a year at the club, having joined in the 2023/24 season. Ogura struggled to secure a starting spot, ultimately serving as third-choice goalkeeper behind Paul Izzo and Oskar Snorre.

According to sources close to the player, Nordsjaelland are looking to bring him back on a four-year deal, with plans for him to serve as backup to Norwegian keeper Andreas Hansen. However, Ogura is reportedly seeking improved terms, including assurances over playing time.

“He (Ogura) is in talks with Nordsjaelland and will return if the parties can reach an agreement. The only complication is that they want him as a backup, while he wants more minutes on the pitch. The talks are still in the early stages, so anything is possible at this point—especially since the financial offer from Nordsjaelland is tempting,” a source told Footy Africa in an exclusive interview.

Ogura previously spent time at Nordsjaelland throughout his youth career and made eight senior appearances before departing for Randers. The player, whose current market value is estimated at €100,000, made only one first-team appearance last season and featured twice for the reserve side.

On the international stage, Ogura has yet to receive a senior call-up to the Black Stars, although he has previously represented Ghana at U-20 level.
