After an extended spell of negotiations, Ghanaian central midfielder Mohammed Alidu is now set to complete his move to Ghana Premier League outfit, Aduana Stars FC from Legon Cities FC, Footy-Africa sources have exclusively learned.
The 20-year-old is set to land at Aduana’s training ground on Saturday for his medical tests, and subsequently sign a three-year contract. Aduana and Legon Cities have been locked in talks for close to a week, as they sought compensation for the remainder of his one-year contract.
A source to the player has exclusively disclosed to Footy-Africa that Alidu will join Aduana, with official unveiling reserved for next week at the club’s headquarters in Bono. Aduana are set to part with β¬130,000 to sign the young midfielder.
“He (Alidu) will be at the club’s grounds for his medical tests over the weekend after the parties reached an agreement for a deal. He will then sign his three-year contract and official unveiling will then follow earlier next week. He is a very talented player, and Aduana is looking at developing him into an elite midfielder, capable of playing in a top European league,” the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.
At Legon Cities, he made 25 appearances last season, where he chipped in with two goals with as many assists. In his three-year spell there, he played 58 games, and scored five goals with six assists to his name, despite largely playing as a defensive midfielder.
Meanwhile, internationally, the midfielder has previously received national team call-ups both at the Ghana U-17 and U-20 teams, respectively. However, he has yet to play for the senior national team, The Black Stars.
