Croatian football powerhouse HNK Hajduk Split has set its sights on one of the standout young talents from the Albanian league, as they intensify interest in Dinamo City FC midfielder Karamba Gassama, sources close to the situation exclusively told Footy-Africa.

Hajduk has formally enquired about the possibility of a permanent move for the 20-year-old, who played a pivotal role in knocking them out of the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers on Thursday night.

The interest from Hajduk Split is not new — the Croatian club has been tracking Gassama for several months — but their pursuit has now gathered momentum following his commanding display in the recent European clash. The Gambian midfielder was instrumental in Dinamo City’s 2-1 aggregate victory, showcasing his composure, vision, and work rate in midfield, earning plaudits from both coaches and analysts.

Gassama’s stock has risen steadily since joining Dinamo City, and last season he cemented his place as a key figure in their squad. He started 23 out of 33 matches, amassing 1,995 minutes of playing time across all competitions. His consistency and maturity on the pitch have drawn attention from scouts across Europe, and with a current market value of €260,000, he presents a relatively affordable yet high-upside option for a club like Hajduk.

Despite the strong interest, sources exclusively told Footy-Africa that Gassama is not in a rush to move. He is said to be fully focused on helping Dinamo City secure a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage. A successful qualification campaign could influence his decision to stay in Albania for at least another season, where he would gain further exposure on the continental stage.

For Hajduk Split, the addition of a player like Gassama would bolster their midfield options significantly, adding youth, energy, and European experience to their squad. Negotiations are expected to continue in the coming days, with both clubs weighing their options as the transfer window progresses.

As it stands, Gassama’s future remains open — but whether in Albania or Croatia, it’s clear the young midfielder is on the cusp of a breakthrough season.
