Bundesliga outfit Hamburg have completed the signing of Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi from French club OGC Nice ahead of the 2026-27 German league season.
Moffi had joined Nice from fellow Ligue 1 side Lorient in 2023 and despite a bright start to his career at the club, things later turned sour towards his latter days. He was assaulted by some sections of the club’s supporters after a league defeat in November 2025 and has not played for them since then.
While he spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Porto, he has now finalized a move to Hamburg for the next chapter in his career.
The Bundesliga side will pay a fee of around €2.5 million for the signature of the 27-year-old, which is lesser than Nice’s initial valuation.
However, with both parties eager to move on, a compromise was reached for the Nigerian to seal the move to Germany, where he will be hoping to help Hamburg seal a higher finish with his goals and experience playing at the top level.
Transfer fee and contract details
Hamburg have agreed a fee of €2.5 million to sign Moffi from Nice this summer, with the deal made up of a fixed €2 million fee and an additional €500,000 in transfer related add-ons.
The Bundesliga side saw off competition from Turkish side Samsunspor to seal an agreement for Moffi, who will wear the number 9 shirt at the club and has agreed a three-year contract , potentially keeping him at the club until 2029.

According to Capology, the Super Eagles striker earned around €3.14 million per year during his time at Nice.
However, the details of his wages at Hamburg have not been officially disclosed, although it is reported that he took a pay cut to complete his move to the German club.

Moffi joined Nice in 2023 from Lorient and had a bright start to his career at the club, including going on to become their leading Ligue 1 scorer in the 2023-24 season.
The Nigerian forward has now embarked on a new chapter with Hamburg and could make his debut for the club against Borussia Dortmund in their 2026-27 Bundesliga opener on Saturday, hoping to make an instant impact.
