Olukismet FC head coach Gabriel in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa praised Nigerian youngster Benjamin Akindoyo‘s move to Albanian giants KF Egnatia on a three-year deal.

Gabriel highlighted the midfielder’s journey, development, and potential, expressing confidence that the young talent is destined for greater heights.

“He is a very good player of ours who was scouted by BFM Agency during one of their scouting programmes in Lagos, Nigeria. There were a few teams who were interested in taking him on, especially a team in the Czech Republic, but he could not get a visa to the country and that was how the deal collapsed at the last minute,” Gabriel exclusively told Footy-Africa.

“He played for us for a while and was our captain, helping us to win a lot of trophies. Benjamin is a solid defensive midfielder who plays like the legendary Chelsea midfielder Claude Makélélé. He can also play from a right full-back position.”

“The deal to the club (Egnatia) is a three-year deal, and I am sure there will be a lot to be heard from him, as he has the potential to be the best in that position in the near future,” he concluded.

The 19-year-old midfielder makes history as the first player to secure an overseas transfer under the partnership between Olukismet FC and Bode Football Management Group, marking a significant milestone for both organisations.

Akindoyo, widely regarded as a promising talent, has spent the last few years developing his game at Olukismet, where he established himself as one of the club’s standout performers.

Known for his combative style and strong presence in midfield, the young Nigerian has consistently impressed with his work rate, tactical awareness, and ability to break up opposition play.
