Chance Liga side Hradec Kralove have won the race for highly rated Nigerian forward Desmond Dada Ayomide, seeing off interest from other Czech clubs.
Babawo Mohammed, who helped put the transfer together, in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa has expressed belief that Hradec Kralove have picked up a forward who will repay their faith. He compared the youngster’s style to that of French striker Kylian Mbappe.
“The boy is quick, strong and has an eye for goal and I think he will be a revelation for his new team, who I think are lucky to have him,” Mohammed said. “He has been developing at our academy, JB Central in Abuja, and now he has the chance to show what he can do.”
“We looked at a lot of things before the deal was agreed with Hradec Kralove, as they will provide a great environment for him to learn, grow and develop into what we think he can be. The club were impressed with him, as you can see from the fact that he was given a four-year deal.”
“If I was to compare him with any footballer, I will say he plays like Kylian Mbappe of Real Madrid, with his speed, balance and an eye for a goal. Hopefully, he will quickly adapt to his new surroundings and prove himself. One of our other players, Abdullahi Umar, is at the club, so he will help him to settle down quickly.”
The teenager joins from JB Central Football Academy in Abuja, and the move represents both his first professional contract and his first spell outside Nigeria.
Ayomide has put pen to paper on a four-year deal and will start out with the club’s under-19 side before being eased towards first-team football.
Umar’s presence at the club should smooth the transition for Ayomide, who now has four years to make his case in Czech football.
