Belgian-Ghanaian winger Jesse Bisiwu is set to join Barcelona’s first-team squad after the Spanish champions reached an agreement with Club Brugge for the highly rated 18-year-old, sources have told Footy-Africa.
The La Liga champions will pay a fixed €8.5 million fee, while Club Brugge have also secured a 20 per cent sell-on clause, a provision that sources had earlier indicated would be central to any agreement, as first reported by Footy-Africa.com.
Despite being just 18, Bisiwu is expected to be integrated into Hansi Flick’s senior squad from the outset.
While he could feature for Barça Atlètic on occasion to maintain match fitness or aid his development, he is regarded internally as a first-team player rather than a reserve-team signing.
Barcelona’s decision reflects the club’s confidence in the winger’s potential after closely monitoring his progress in Belgium over the past year.
Bisiwu enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign with Club NXT, making 15 appearances in the Challenger Pro League. He also impressed in the UEFA Youth League, scoring three goals and providing one assist in eight matches.
Regarded as one of Belgium’s brightest young talents, Bisiwu will now have the opportunity to compete alongside Barcelona’s established stars as the Catalan giants continue to invest in elite young players capable of making an immediate impact at first-team level. The clubs are currently exchanging the final documents before the transfer is officially completed.
