Ghanaian defender Kojo Oppong Peprah is set to undergo his medical in Istanbul after reaching an agreement to join Turkish giants Fenerbahçe on a four-year contract, sources close to the player have confirmed to Footy-Africa.
The 22-year-old has agreed personal terms with Fenerbahçe and is now expected in Istanbul to complete the final formalities before his transfer from French side OGC Nice.
Fenerbahçe will pay more than Nice’s €10 million valuation for the Ghana international, with the total value of the deal potentially reaching €13 million including bonuses.
The Turkish giants have moved to take advantage of their U-23 quota to secure Peprah, who has emerged as one of Nice’s most valuable young defenders following his breakthrough season in Ligue 1.
Peprah made 31 Ligue 1 appearances during the 2025/26 campaign and also featured in European competition before representing Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The defender had attracted interest from several clubs, including Burnley, Strasbourg and Trabzonspor, but Fenerbahçe ultimately won the race for his signature.
A major factor behind Peprah’s decision was the opportunity to play Champions League football.
Footy-Africa understands the Ghanaian was prepared to wait until Fenerbahçe secured qualification for the league phase of the Champions League before committing to the move.
With Fenerbahçe having now sealed their place in the competition, Peprah gave the green light to the transfer.
He is now expected to complete his medical in Istanbul before signing his four-year contract and officially becoming a Fenerbahçe player.
