Liverpool head into this clash aiming to seal their first win of the campaign under new head coach Andoni Iraola. The Spaniard had been appointed to replace Arne Slot in the summer as Liverpool continue to find their search for a long-term successor for Jurgen Klopp.
However, they were largely disappointing in their opening game of the season against Newcastle United when they were held to a 2-2 draw. Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, kicked off their campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Leeds United in their opening encounter at City Ground. Former Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner took charge of that clash in his first official game since replacing Vitor Pereira in the summer.
However, he could not prevent them from falling to a late Anton Stach’s free kick and will be hoping to seal his first point in charge of the club at Anfield.
