Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has agreed to join Belgian side RAAL La Louvière on loan from Anderlecht, with an official announcement expected soon, Footy-Africa.com can confirm.

The 28-year-old will undergo medical on Friday and sign the necessary documents in Belgium, paving the way for the move. Anderlecht will continue to pay Ashimeru’s wages during the loan spell, a source has told Footy-Africa.com.

Ashimeru had been eager to leave Anderlecht after falling out of the technical team’s plans, and the move is seen as a chance to revive his career.

A source close to the player told Footy-Africa.com that the midfielder believes the switch will allow him to regain confidence and regular playing time.

RAAL La Louvière, who are currently 13th in the Belgian Pro League standings, are expected to unveil Ashimeru as a winter signing in the coming days.

The loan deal does not include an option to make the transfer permanent. Ashimeru has struggled with injuries in recent seasons and will be hoping for a fresh start at his new club.
